For the third part of the series I posted three videos that I videotaped at the showfloor. It’s somewhat difficult to get things on tape because the people at the booth will sometimes tell you to turn off the camera, lol. You can see the videos here.
The second part of my showfloor coverage is up. There was a lot to see but the time is too short so you can’t experience it at its fullest. Still this article shows some of the things that caught my attention at the showfloor. You can read the article here.
The SIGGRAPH showfloor is definitely one of the most fun places to be during the event. For me, day one of the exhibition was very busy but also very fun. You can check my coverage on day one here.
Hello again
It took me a while to post this but I am finally here. On day 2 the comference continued and by this time the showfloor was still closed. I paid a visit to the Art Gallery and then I went to the Emerging Technologies room.
The art gallery displays pieces that go from the beautiful to the abstract to the completely weird. It is not allowed to take pictures in the Art Gallery but I managed to take a couple of them (one cannot take pictures of the pieces, though) The first picture is the entrance and the second is your charming host… AKA ME.
I also took a few of pictures of the Emerging Technologies room. This was taken near the entrance. You can see more pictures on my ET coverage here.

The keynote was an interesting talk… and the room was more than full!
I also went to a class by some guy from ILM titled “Taxonomy of digital creatures” and a couple of Animation Theater shows. Sorry, no pictures of those since they are not allowed :p
After day 2 I went back to my hotel to drop my stuff and then I went out to see a little bit of the city. I have to say that Boston is a beautiful place (or at least, parts of it, heh). The first picture was taken at the lobby of my hotel, and the rest are the streets and a park.

Hello people.
I know SIGGRAPH finished over a week ago but I was not able to post anything till today, so this is my “SIGGRAPH blog with offset”, lol.
After getting my Media credentials, one of the first things that caught my attention was the teapot exhibit. The one that I liked the most was the “invisible teapot”, show in the picture below. This “virtual teapot” used the SENSABLE device for interaction. To read more about this exhibit check this article on Renderosity.
A little later I ran into Paula Sanders in the Media Room.

And Jenna Hoffstein…

Then Jenna and me went to a class about The Chronicles of Narnia. It was really good (sorry, no pictures, hehehe), and this was the end of day one.

I am getting myself ready to leave to Boston. This is my second SIGGRAPH and I am very excited. I will be going as a press member from Renderosity, so I get to see the whole thing
As you can imagine, I already have some appointments that I have to meet… that’s the price you pay for being a “press guy”, lol. However I have managed to get some free time so I can go to the courses and panels and, of course, the CAF.
BTW Renderosity will have a booth this year feel free to pay a visit. We will be on booth #203
